The article explains how to upgrade the firmware of the TSL UHF RFID Handheld Sled Readers.
A Windows PC with the following minimum specs
Note: The steps are the same for all readers, but the firmware may differ, so choose the appropriate firmware according to your reader model.
1. First, register yourself on the TSL official website, because for further processing you need to download the application and file.
2. Download the TSL Firmware PFF File from the TSL official website.
3. Download the TSL PC Firmware downloader https://www.tsl.com/download-manager/tsl-pc-firmware-downloader/ from the TSL official website.
4. Unzip the TSL PC Firmware downloader file and run setup.exe (as shown in Fig 0.1.) to install the program (please uninstall any previous versions first).
5.Run through the setup wizard accepting the User Account Control (UAC) prompt when shown. Then Click on Next button on loader setup POP-up. As shown in Fig 0.2.
6. Select the Installation folder and click on the next button. As shown in Fig 0.3.
7.After this, click the Next button to confirm the installation, as shown in Fig 0.4.
8. Now, Installing Desktop Firmware Loader Application in the Desktop. As shown in Fig 0.5.
9. After installation, a pop-up will confirm that it has been installed completely. Then, you need to click the Close button. As shown in Fig 0.6.
10. Launch the Desktop Firmware Loader .Select “…” to choose the firmware file to download as shown in Fig 0.7.
11. Select the Firmware file (PFF) which we download at start . as shown in Fig 0.8.
12.Connect the reader to the computer using the supplied USB cable. Once the driver is installed the application will see the COM port arrive and select it automatically. You can then click “Download” to start the download process. As shown in Fig 0.9.
13. Then download will begin, As shown in Fig 1.0.
14. Press the trigger button on the reader to wake the unit and complete the download. As shown in Fig 1.2.
15.The download completes by (re)configuring the Bluetooth module as shown in Fig 1.3.
16.You will need to delete and re-pair any devices that were previously paired with the reader. As shown in Fig 1.4.
